Telephone and telegraph company assessment notice book, 1910-1914.

Section 2149 of the Code of Ala. 1907 required that the state auditor send a notice of the assessment of the value of telephone or telegraph companies' wires and instruments in each county of the state to the county tax assessor and the superintendent of the telephone or telegraph company. The assessments were made by the State Board of Assessment (1890-1915). This series consists of the auditor's copy and the assessment sheet which records the company's name, county of assessment, miles of poles, miles of wire, value of instruments, and amount of total assessment.
